From East to West
Peter Weisz and Nadja Zerunian founded the studio in 2015 and have developed a strong reputation as a result of their work with Roma craftsmen in Transylvania. The two designers are convinced that there should be no sentimentality for dying crafts. Instead they create, in close collaboration with the artisans, contemporary objects that fit well in today’s design cosmos and have stimulated significant interest and demand from customers.
Nadja Zerunian spent a decade as a designer at Calvin Klein in New York before working as the creative director at the Danish brand Georg Jensen and then the Swatch Group. She studied with Ernst Caramelle, Carl Auböck and Ron Arad at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and today lives in Vienna and the USA.
Peter Weisz trained as a tailor of men’s and women’s apparel. Under his eponymous label, he created collections, as well as uniforms for staff at social hotspots like Ungerundklein, Taubenkobel and Wunderl. He worked as a stylist and fashion director for a number of Austrian and international media. Among others for Woman, Wiener, Ahead as well as the British magazine Attitude, Schaufenster, Die Presse and Diva. Peter Weisz learned his craft in Vienna, where he also lives today.
